仙台イスラム文化センター（ICCS）は1985年10月20日、正式に発足しました。 ICCSは、非政治的、非営利的で人種差別のない自主的な組織としてイスラム教徒のアイデンティティとイスラムの活動を健全に保つため、また日本社会におけるイスラム文化の振興のために設立されました。

ICCSは、非政治的、非営利的で人種差別のない自主的な組織です。

目的

  1. イスラム教徒間、またイスラム教徒と日本人の親睦の促進。

  2. イスラムの紹介、日本文化と他文化団体の文化交流。

  3. イスラムの信仰とイスラム教徒の知識の強化。

  4. イスラム教徒の様々な問題の解決。

  5. コーランと言語の教育。

  6. イスラミックセンタージャパン（東京）だけでなくの他のイスラム組織との連携。

Introduction

The Islamic Cultural Centre of Sendai (ICCS) was officially launched on 20th October 1985. ICCS was established as a non-political, non-profit, voluntary organization without racial discrimination in order to keep Muslims’ identity and Islamic activities healthy and to promote Islamic culture in Japanese society. The aims of ICCS are manifested in their six missions :

  1. Promotion of friendship among Muslims and between Muslims and Japanese.

  2. Introducing Islam and cultural exchange to Japanese and other cultural organizations.

  3. Intensifying the Islamic faith and knowledge of the Muslims.

  4. Solving different problems of Muslims.

  5. Teaching Quran and languages.

  6. Cooperation with the Islamic Center of Japan (in Tokyo) as well as other Islamic organizations.

ICCS manages almost of all Muslim activities in Sendai including daily activities such as five times Salah congregation, weekly activities including Friday sermon, Friday congregation and Quran class in every Saturday evening, and also yearly activities including Ramadhan, Zakat, and Eid. Generally, most of the activities are held at Sendai Masjid which is located at 7 Chome-7-24 Hachiman, Aoba-ku, Sendai-shi, Miyagi-ken 980-0871. All of the activities are open to the public.

FACTS ABOUT SENDAI MASJID

  • The first masjid in Sendai city which was built on November 2nd, 2007. It stands on a land area of about 420 m2 with the building area covering of about 240 m2.

  • Sendai Masjid is located at 7 Chome-7-24 Hachiman, Aoba Ward, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. It is about 6,6 km from Sendai Station as the center of Sendai city.

  • Sendai Masjid is a home and office for Islamic Cultural Centre of Sendai (ICCS). Almost all of ICCS activities are centered at this masjid.

  • As a center for Muslim in Sendai, Sendai Masjid provides Muslim activities including daily congregation (Jamaah), Friday Praying, Weekly Quran class, Ramadhan and Eids.

  • Officially registered as the religious organization since April 27th, 2016.

  • The Masjid can be accessed using city bus [stop at Hachiman 7 Chome (八幡七丁目）bus stop then walk for about 5 minutes] or using JR train Senzan line [stop at Kuzuoka （葛岡駅) station then walk for about 18 minutes].

  • The busses who come from Sendai Station (bus pool number 10) to Hachiman 7 chome can be indicated by their numbers: 840, 845, 850, 855, 860, 866.
